A Trio Monitor is 12.5 inches with a 12.8" x 8.6" x 0.5" dimension. On the contrary, Trio Max Monitor is 14 inches with a 14.1" x 9.5" x 0.5" dimension. Both Monitors are compatible with Android, Chrome, Mac, Linux, and Windows devices. 

Also, check if your laptop has sufficient ports, like the USB and HDMI ports, with the correct cords to add screen to laptop. In case they are absent, you must get an adapter cable. Ensure your device has at least two video port cords for connection to other monitors. 

Preparing Your Laptop or Device

Check graphics settings and drivers for multiple displays. Windows Installation Guide

Connect the Windows laptop to the Trio/Trio Max monitor and wait for a few seconds until the Monitor turns on. If it does not, visit the Maxfree official  page to install the correct system driver.

Mac Installation Guide 

Ensure not to put the triple Monitor setup into your Mac before executing the driver installation. Download the Mac driver from the Maxfree official page, run the .dmg file to load the correct drivers, and follow the instructions.

Note: Download the Maxfree driver depending on your system requirements and Mac version to install the correct drivers. 

Monitor Positioning Guide

  • Place the metal plates over the magnets in the back of the Trio Portable Monitor
  • Ensure the round plate is centered on the magnet 
  • Place all the metal plates, close the laptop, and align the Trio/Trio Max monitor
  • Try to match the right edge of the Trio/Trio Max monitor with one screw exposed past the edge of the laptop.
  • Align the Trio/Trio Max's bottom of the bottom of the laptop

Now use it in Portrait by sliding Trio and rotating around 110 degrees or in Presentation mode by swiveling Trio 180 degrees to the back of the laptop. To use the 3 monitor setup, attach the clips to Trio and attach the second unit of Trio to the clips.

Configuring Display Settings

Access the display settings on your laptop or device. Set the Trio monitor as an extended display and identify the Trio monitor to adjust its resolution and orientation.

Windows Display Settings 

  • Right-click on the desktop while Trio is connected > Display Setting.
  • To change the duplicate screen to extend mode, click on Duplicate these displays from the dropdown menu.
  • Choose Extend these displays from the dropdown menu > Apply.

The default text size is 125%, and you can increase it up to 175% or decrease it to 100% using the Scale and Layout menu.

Mac Display Settings 

  • Click System Preference > Displays
  • Check the Mirror Displays box to switch between duplicate extend mode 

Once you open Displays and hold the Option key > Click Scaled to select the resolution that fits your needs. 

Alignment and Calibration

Adjust the Monitor's position and angle for comfortable viewing, and calibrate colors and brightness to match your laptop's display. 

Calibrate Monitor in Windows

  • Visit the Display settings 
  • Set the correct gamma values 
  • Set the right brightness
  • Set the proper contrast ratio 
  • Set the correct color levels 
  • Confirm your settings 

Calibrate Monitor on Mac 

  • Click on the Apple logo
  • Select System Preferences > Displays > Color tab
  • Click the Calibrate button while pressing down the Option key to open Apple Display Calibrator Assistant in Expert Mode
  • Click Continue and set up native Gamma > Continue 
  • Set up target Gamma and choose a white point
  • Configure Administrator options 
  • Name the Display profile
  • Check your Profile Summary
